Guyana Softball Cup 6 to bowl off this weekend

THE sixth edition of the Guyana Floodlight Softball Cricket Association (GFSCA) annual International Softball tournament is set to bowl off this weekend:November 4, 5 & 6. The three- day competition will seed teams from Canada, New York, Florida and Guyana who will all be competing for cricketing supremacy in the Americas.
The tournament will be played in the Open and Masters categories with action starting on Friday from 9.00 hrs,with 12 games being played simultaneously at GDF, Police, Malteenoes, DCC and Ghandi Youth grounds .
The Second round of the 12 games starts at 13:00hrs at the same grounds, while the final 12 preliminary games will be played on November 5 at 9:00hs. At 13:00hrs, two semi- finals will be played simultaneously at the police ground while at the DCC ground, a semi-final will start at 13:00hrs and at 17:00hrs respectively.
At the DCC ground on November 6, there will be the Masters and Open Finals along with three exhibition 10/10 female games. The female teams include Mikes Wellwoman, Trophy Stall Angels, 4R Lioness and Blue Divas. The day’s event will start at 10:00hrs.
Over $2M in cash and other incentives are up for grabs. Tickets cost $1,000 and will be sold at the gate. Prizes are up for grabs and spectators are asked to keep their half ticket in order to be eligible.
Four persons can win a trip for themselves and partner to Baganara (1 night), Kaieteur/Orinduik Falls (1day), Arrowpoint (1 night), and Aruwai Resort White H20 (1 night) with all expenses paid return ticket in addition to the ten hampers up for grabs.
The tournament is sponsored by STAG, Rubis Guyana, Trophy Stall, Survival Group of Business, Steve’s Jewellery, Clear Waters, Busta Soft Drinks, Rohan Auto Spares, A&R Jewanram Printery, W.J Enterprise and Mike’s Pharmacy.
