A FATHER of five was on Monday remanded to prison by Magistrate, Judy Latchman when he appeared before her charged with break and enter and larceny.
Thirty- year-old Keon Crandon of Durban Backlands denied the allegation which stated that on October 5, 2016 at Sheriff and Enachu Streets, Section K Campbellville, he stole from Dianna Panday: three gas bottles valued at $20,000 and a four-burner gas stove valued $50,000; a Dell Desktop computer worth $200,000; a 42” television set value $100,000; three flower vases worth $20,000 and articles of clothing to the tune of some $60,000.
Police Prosecutor, Shawn Gonzalves objected to bail based on the grounds of the seriousness and the prevalence of the offence and the penalty the offence carries.
Gonzalves told the court that he was informed by the investigating rank that Crandon had served a sentence before for simple larceny.
Crandon was remanded to prison until November 2.
