AN 18-YEAR-OLD teen accused of robbery under arms was remanded to prison on Monday by Magistrate Fabayo Azore at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts.Alfred Prescott of Middle Road, La Penitence, allegedly on September 11, at West Ruimveldt, while being armed with a knife, robbed Daquan Clark of a Jialing motorcycle valued $176,800.
The labourer pleaded not guilty to the charge laid against him and told the court that he is being wrongly charged by the police.
According to Police Prosecutor Simone Payne, the motorcycle was recovered at the home of the defendant, and he even admitted to the theft when police arrested him.
Payne then successfully objected to bail based on the prevalence, penalty and seriousness of the offence. The prosecutor further pointed out that Prescott has pending matters before the courts.
The Magistrate ruled in the prosecution’s favour and remanded the teen until October 17.
