–so paralysed son can undergo corrective surgery

SIXTY-FIVE-year-old Devhram Jodhan of Best Village, West Coast Demerara is asking for help so his 22-year-old paralysed son, Beshaan, can undergo corrective surgery.Jodhan told the Guyana Chronicle last Friday that, following an accident on May 18, 2011, Beshaan, the youngest of his children, has been left bedridden.

He explained that on the day in question, the lad, now 22, had left home at about 15:00hrs for Windsor Forest, to help a friend put a large metal signboard on a truck. The task completed, Beshaan was standing behind the truck when the heavy signboard fell on him. The resultant compression injuries to the spinal column and spine have left Beshaan paralysed from the waist down, and caused him to be hospitalised for months.

Jodhan, who suffers with a heart condition, says his health is fading fast and he fears he may die any day now. He would dearly love to see his son walk again, so Beshaan would be able to take care of himself when he is gone.
