A BERBICE rice farmer identified only as “Desperado” and another identified as “Doodee” reportedly succumbed to injuries they sustained last evening when the vehicle in which they were travelling collided with a horse on the Leeds Public Road, Corentyne.The impact of the collision caused the Toyota Raum in which they were occupants to turn turtle and catapult off the roadway. Three other occupants of the vehicle are reportedly critically injured.

These men were allegedly seen imbibing earlier in the evening; and after the driver had reportedly lost control of the vehicle and hit the horse, the vehicle landed on the bridge of a nearby resident, and persons rushed to the scene to assist the men.

Police are investigating the incident.
