AN EAST COAST Demerara (ECD) amputee was recently provided with a Personal Energy Transportation (PET) from Food for the Poor (FFTP) Guyana Incorporated.Michael Abrams of Golden Grove, ECD, whose right leg was amputated just over a year ago, received the PET Cart from FFTP to assist with his mobility;a statement from the non-governmental organisation said on Sunday.
The beneficiary expressed gratitude to FFTP for the PET Cart while stating: “I will cherish this until I die.”
Meanwhile, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of FFTP, Kent Vincent, said that the organization had acquired fourteen PET Carts from the PET Shop in Penney Farms, Florida, USA, via Food for the Poor Inc. Florida and so far two persons have benefited from the donation locally.
Vincent explained that the carts assist amputees like Abrams to be mobile, and invited persons with similar disabilities and in need of the PET carts to contact the organization to become a beneficiary.
