AT LEAST one person was left nursing an injury to the head, while a number of others were left contemplating the amount of money they would be spending to repair their vehicles, following a number of vehicular accidents on Friday.One driver is experiencing the negative financial effects of driving and being on the phone after his Toyota Premio, PVV 750, ended up in a ditch at the corner of Lamaha and Pike Streets in Kitty, Georgetown.
According to one witness, following the accident, the driver complained of having been on his phone and perhaps miscalculating when he was turning. He was assisted out of his vehicle by some passersby.
Meanwhile, on the Railway Embankment at Liliendaal, Greater Georgetown, a two-vehicle smash-up has left one driver with a head injury after he reportedly ended up in the path of an oncoming vehicle while trying to overtake another vehicle.
According to reports, the driver of HB 9673, a yellow Toyota Carina, was headed east along the Railway Embankment when he reportedly attempted to overtake a white Spacio and ended up in the path of oncoming blue Toyota Allion PNN 6931, heading west.
Police were on scene taking statements and trying to clarify just what had taken place, even as they tried to alleviate the traffic build-up that ensued.
This accident followed one that had occurred just a few minutes prior and just a stone’s throw away, at the entrance to the Giftland Mall, where another traffic build-up had already occurred.
