POLICE are investigating a traffic accident which occurred on Sunday, July 31, at approximately 21:30hrs on the Ever Green Public Road, Essequibo Coast, and resulted in the death of 53-year-old Lawrence Tans, a pedestrian of Charity, Essequibo Coast.A police report noted that Tans was admitted at the Suddie Hospital after the accident, but succumbed while receiving medical treatment at about 10:00h on August 01.

The driver’s breathalyzer test found him to be well above the legally allowable limit of alcohol. He is presently in police custody assisting with the investigations.
