Taylor receives Dolphin Award of Excellence while Aguilleira inducted as honorary member

THE Rose Hall Town Youth and Sports Club M.S last Saturday hosted several cricketers who are currently playing in the WICB Women’s tournament. The players were drawn from Trinidad and Tobago, Leeward Islands, Windward Islands and Guyana teams and included West Indies players Marissa Aguilleira, Shemaine Campbelle, Tremayne Smartt and Britney Cooper.
West Indies captain Stephanie Taylor was unavoidably absent, but was inducted as the ninth awardee of the club’s prestigious Dolphin Award of Excellence Scheme while Aguilleira was inducted as an honorary member of the club.
Club Secretary/CEO Hilbert Foster said the initiative was part of the club’s effort to expose its membership to positive role models, with the hope of inspiring them to fulfil their potentials.
Foster proudly stated that the club will continue to spearhead the effort to guide youths on the correct path, and issued an invitation to Taylor and Aquilleria to visit the club for a working visit.
The former West Indies captain accepted the offer immediately, and has indicated that she will pay a visit to the club by year-end.
Meanwhile, Aguilleira speaking to club members, congratulated the club for its outstanding work, adding that she is delighted to be inducted as an honorary member of such a dynamic and progressive organisation.
