When the Guyana Chronicle arrived at the hospital, an X-ray was being conducted on the father of two. His sister, who requested anonymity, said Koama had just dropped off a friend at the Palms Geriatric Home, and was proceeding east when he lost control of the car, PLL 5339, in the vicinity of the Guyana Geology and Mines Commission (GGMC) Building.

“He swerved from a bicycle, but the power steering like it stick, and he lost control of the car,” Koama’s sister explained. “When it happened, some people rush to the car and helped him out. I think they were exercising when they saw the accident happen,” she added.

Koama has reportedly suffered neck and shoulder injuries. Up to press time, he was a patient at GPHC.
