THE Rose Hall Town Youth and Sports Club (RHTYSC) has extended its nominations for the fourth edition of the Gregory Gaskin Memorial Berbice Sports Award and the Ansa McAl Award of Excellence to July 2. Club Secretary/CEO Hilbert Foster stated that the club has already received a combined 36 nominations for both awards, but wanted to give others the opportunity to nominate heroes from their area.
The Ansa McAl Award of Excellence will honour four outstanding Berbicians for service of the highest standard in the fields of sports administration, education, health and community development.
Nominees must have completed between 20 and 30 years of dedicated and outstanding service in the four fields listed above.
The Gregory Gaskin Memorial Berbice Sports Award Scheme will see the RHTYSC share out four awards – Berbice Sportsman-of-the-Year 2015, Berbice Sportswoman-of-the-Year 2015, Berbice Sports Personality-of-the-Year 2015 and Berbice Sports Organisation-of-the-Year 2015.
The awards are administered by the Education and Public Relations Committee of the RHTYSC, M.S. and the final awardees are chosen by a panel of judges headed by veteran journalist Gregory Rambarran.
Nominations can be sent to the club’s office, Area ‘H’ Ground or via email at: foster_hilbert@yahoo.com before July 15.
Those being nominated must have their addresses, telephone numbers and email addresses included, along with a detailed reason why the nomination was made.
