WEST Indies skipper Jason Holder has dismissed suggestions that the team is likely to be under huge pressure in the Ballr Tri-Nations ODI clash against Australia today.Heading into the fixture in St Kitts the regional team finds itself at the bottom of the three-team table on four points after two games. Australia top the table on 9 points after three games, while South Africa are second on five after the same amount.
“We all know the importance of the game but I wouldn’t say there is pressure. Australia came off a very good win against South Africa when their backs were against the wall,” Holder said.
The teams will meet at the Warner Park ground in St Kitts and Nevis for the 12:00pm (1:00pm ECT) with the hosts desperately needing to keep pace.
The first encounter between the teams was a lopsided six-wicket win for the Australians in Guyana, and Holder claims the Windies must focus on correcting the mistakes made.
“It’s just important for us to focus on our games to narrow it down to what we specifically need to do to win this game. I just think once we tick our boxes in terms of the process the results will take care of itself,” he added.
