Inclement weather forces postponement to Mayor’s Cup fixtures

CONSISTENT rainfall last Sunday forced the organisers of the 22nd Annual Mayor’s Cup football tournament to call off the triple-header card that was scheduled for the Victoria ground, East Coast Demerara, and have rescheduled it for Sunday.According to coordinator of the tournament, Lennox Arthur, the triple-header will be played at the same venue and will see a change to the opening fixture which was to have been contested between BV/Triumph and Guyana Police Force.
Arthur told Chronicle Sport the opening game on Sunday will now see BV/Triumph tackle Cougars from 17:00hrs, while the remaining two matches are unchanged.
In the feature game home side Victoria Kings will take on Federal Winners Connections from 21:00hrs, while the penultimate game from 19:00hrs will be contested between Ann’s Grove and Grove Hi-Tech.
