RESIDENTS who applied for house lots in Regions Five and Six would soon be able to interface with housing officials, and hopefully secure their plots of land.Officials of the Central Housing and Planning Authority will be in Region Six today and then in Region Five Thursday.
According to Minister with responsibility for this sector, Ms. Valerie Patterson-Adams, these activities are aimed at taking affordable housing solutions to all, while ensuring equal opportunity for all, the release stated.
The Minister and her team are expected to facilitate serving members of the Guyana Police Force at the Albion Sports Complex, between 9:00 hours and 12:00 hours today.
They will then attend to citizens with all housing related matters on 13:00 hours at the same location.
On Friday, the team will be at the Region Five, Regional Office (Fort Wellington) where they would continue the outreach programme.
Serving ranks of the Guyana Police Force and residents of Burma are expected to be attended to between the hours of 9:00 h and 11:00 h, while others would be attended to between 12:00 h to 16:00 h.
In an effort to have smooth flow of events, persons attending are urged to walk with all necessary documents.
Already for the year, similar exercises have been conducted in Regions three, four, five, six, nine and ten, much to the benefit of residents of these areas.
In the past year, the Central Housing and Planning Authority has allocated 1,400 house lots.
A total of 251 lots were allocated during the period June to December 2015, while a total of 1,200 lots were allocated during the period January to May, 2016. These allocations span all categories – very low income, low income, moderate and high income.
