Results of Youth Basketball matches played last weekend

 

THE Youth Basketball Guyana (YBG) National Schools basketball festival, Georgetown & East Coast Regionals continued last weekend with five matches played in the U-14, U-16 and U-19 categories collectively. In the first match of the day, Tutorial High fell to St Stanislaus 16-2 in the U-14 matchup. Thalenn Moore had 6 points and 3 rebounds and was supported by Nathan Hackett who added 4 points, 11 rebounds and 4 steals for the Saints side.
In the U-16, St Joseph High pulled off a close win over Bladen Hall Multilateral in a game which finished 27-23. Denzil Ross had 9 points, and 4 steals Shaquawn Gill had 9 points and 4 rebounds for St Joseph. Darrell Hamer had 14 points and 10 rebounds for Bladen Hall.
Marian Academy had a blowout against Tutorial High winning 34-10. Jordan Alphonso had 11 points, 8 rebounds, 4 steals in an all-around performance, with Joshua Brazao adding 6 points, 4 rebounds for Marian Academy.
In the Under-19s, Plaisance Secondary trounced Queen’s College 44-27. Nigel Bowen scored 11 points and 5 rebounds, Terrence Daniels collected 9 points and 5 rebounds for Plaisance. Damani Thomas accumulated 14 points, 6 rebounds and 3 steals for Queen’s.
Plaisance Academy also walloped St Stanislaus 60-27. Nigel Bowen had 14 points, 12 rebounds while running mate Terrence Daniels put together 14 points and 11 rebounds with Jared Sears adding 10 points for Plaisance. Travis Belgrave had a lone performance of 17 points and 5 rebounds for Saints.
Another round of matches will be played today.
