HE’S here and he’s ready to give fans what they want. So says Jamaica dancehall artiste, Busy Signal, who touched down in Guyana Friday afternoon ahead of his performance at tonight’s sold-out Banks DIH-sponsored Jubilee Mega Concert slated for the National Stadium. Encouraging fans to come out, the ‘Night Shift/One More Night’ artiste promised that fans will be getting his best when he graces the stage tomorrow night.
“They got to come, they got to come to the show tomorrow and see all that special stuff we got lined up, crazy stuff, you know what I mean? We perform and we deliver 100 percent to the people at all times, we don’t try to put it 95 percent, or 70 percent, we give it full each time, and we do it in different ways. So right now, tomorrow, madness! Busy signal,” Busy Signal assured.
Busy was hosted Friday at the Banks DIH Sports Club, Thirst Park, where he chatted with the media and mingled with scores of fans who flocked the venue to get a glimpse of, and a picture with, the ‘Watch Out Fi Dis’ singer.
Busy Signal is one of several artistes headlining the mega event. Other top artistes include fellow dancehall artiste Konshens, who is scheduled to arrive today, and Mr. Phenomenal himself Benjai, out of Trinidad.
With a line-up packed with local artistes in addition to the Trinidad and Jamaica performers, the concert promises to be a very “busy” night indeed.
Banks DIH Communications Manager, Troy Peters, said the company is proud of the programme they have put together and fans are guaranteed to have a good time.
“We have a very good line-up. This show will be off the hook, the fans can come out and have an enjoyable time. We also have Konshens with us, we have Cecile, we have Karma, there’s Benjai, and from Guyana we have Big Red, First Born, Adrian Dutchin, Kwasi Ace, there’s Vanessa Bling. So it’s going to be a very, very busy night,” Peters remarked.
The concert is part of the ongoing Jubilee festivities, which is commemorating Guyana’s 50th Independence Anniversary, which was celebrated last Thursday; a celebration that Busy said he is very happy to be a part of, noting that at the end of the day we are all united as a Caribbean people.
“I am so honoured to be a part of the celebration. You know in a way we are all one Caribbean and just being a part of celebrating this, I am really, really honoured to be here,” Busy said.
Peters said this concert is just one of the many ways that Banks is giving back to the people in this Jubilee celebrations.
“We have always been giving, not just for this particular occasion. Banks has always been giving, in fact we are one of the pillars of the whole celebration, we have contributed immensely, in the arch and once again we will be giving back to the country. Having an artiste like Busy Signal as one of our lead artistes is very important to us, as a company, and as a country,” Peters expressed.
According to Peters, anyone able to get a regular ticket would be a very lucky person as there are only VIP tickets still remaining on the sale shelf.
