One held for robbing money-changers

TWO gunmen have allegedly robbed two money-changers of the sum of $800,000 during a brazen attack at Rose Hall Town, Corentyne Berbice.Reports are that at about 08:30hrs on Monday, the men walked up to the money-changers and held them at gunpoint as they demanded that they hand over the cash in their possession; and the fearful money-changers immediately complied with the request.

Swift action by ranks on the Corentyne led to the capture of one of the two suspects, who is also wanted by law enforcement officials in connection with a series of armed robberies committed in the region within recent times. The police also managed to retrieve a firearm from the man they have arrested.

The cops are, however, on the hunt for his accomplice, who is believed to have all of the stolen cash in his possession.
