A NEW baby is like the beginning of all things – wonder, hope and a dream of possibilities. A new baby will make love stronger, days shorter, nights longer, bankrolls smaller, homes happier, clothes shabbier, the past forgotten, and the future worth living. These thoughts have been expressed by one person or another over time, and one can continue in describing the bundle of joy that is a baby. That joy was experienced Sunday by several mothers across the country, who gave birth on Mothers’ Day.

And the Guyana Chronicle visited the Maternity Unit of the Georgetown Public Hospital and spoke to the first two women who delivered babies there on Mothers’ Day.
They were both happy and felt extra special that they had received the best gift they could possibly get when they delivered healthy, beautiful babies.
The proud mothers, Scheneka Bobb- Semple, 23, delivered the first baby of the day at 00:55hrs, while Alexis Boucher, 23, delivered her baby boy at 14:08hrs. First- time mother, Bobb -Semple, celebrated Mothers’ Day in a special way as she delivered a beautiful baby girl.
When this newspaper visited the hospital, there were five Mothers’ Day deliveries so far.
