THE winners of the recently concluded Road to Mecca Finals were honoured on Saturday night at Palm Court on Main Street. The team took away the first- prize cheque of $500,000, along with the Most Valuable Player and Coach of the tournament trophies.
Seventeen -year-old Stanton Rose was named the Most Valuable Player. The Kwakwani youngster was phenomenal for the Colts and played an integral role in the team’s finals win. Dayne Kendall took home the Coach of the Tournament trophy.
The Raiders were presented with the second- place cheque of $250,000.
GABF Vice-President Michael Singh thanked the participating clubs for the high level of play and promised an even bigger championship next year.
Also speaking was Jamal Douglas, Mackeson Brand Manager, who stated that Ansa McAl was more than the tournament’s primary sponsor.
He also stated that the company will play an even greater role in the event next year.
