A FATHER of two died Tuesday evening after he reportedly lost control of the car he was driving and crashed on the Schoonord New Access Road, West Bank Demerara.Dead is Naresh Kumar, 36, of 298 Parfaite Harmonie, West Bank Demerara. The Guyana Chronicle understands that Kumar was on the way home when the accident occurred at approximately 21:50hrs.
According to reports, he lost control of his Mazda Axela car, PSS 2326 on an S-turn heading into the housing scheme just off the Demerara Harbour Bridge. Reports are that the vehicle toppled several times.

Kumar was pronounced dead on arrival at the West Demerara Regional Hospital.
At the time of his death, Kumar was employed as a driver/salesman at Building Materials Depot on the East Bank of Demerara.
This newspaper was reliably informed that Kumar turned up at work on Tuesday morning and informed his employers that he no longer wished to work with the company, “because he felt something bad will happen.” However, Kumar’s wife said he was fired when he showed up to work.
Meanwhile, this newspaper understands that Kumar was the victim of a hijacking Friday last while driving his employer’s canter truck in the vicinity of Clonbrook, East Coast Demerara. Reports indicate that the hijackers placed him inside the enclosed tray of the canter, but he managed to escape after the vehicle stopped and the door opened.
He then visited the Cove and John Police Station to make a report when he was taken into custody pending investigations. After the 72-hour detention period, he was released Monday night.
The police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident.
