A PLAYFUL scuffle between Nafasie Edghill, 39, of Costello Housing Scheme, south Georgetown and a friend somewhere in Mon Repos, East Coast Demerara (ECD) ended tragically at about 15:00hrs on Friday when the friend’s licensed firearm accidently went off and Edghill was hit in the stomach by the lone round discharged.

According to police, the friend “had the firearm in his hand at the time when a round is reported to have been accidentally discharged.”

Edghill, the father of three children, died while receiving medical treatment at a private hospital. His friend meanwhile, and two other men who were there when the incident occurred, have all been taken into police custody and are assisting with investigations.
