ICC biased towards India – Richards

WEST Indies legend Sir Viv Richards has accused the International Cricket Council (ICC) of having an inherent bias towards India.Richards’ comments come on the heels of the West Indies players coming in for severe criticism from the ICC, who deemed some the behaviour following their triumph in the ICC World T20 tournament to have been “inappropriate”.
In fact the body maintained that it had seriously considered sanctions for the regional team and skipper Darren Sammy, who criticised the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) in his post-game interview.
Richards, himself a former West Indies skipper has accused the body of unevenness and of ignoring infringements by India, due to the fact that the Asian body is one of the game’s powerbrokers.
“There are rules in the one-day game under the auspices of the ICC, for instance the system where you go back to the third umpire and things like that,” Richards said to the Antigua Observer.
“So, if you are the sole governing body of world cricket, then everyone should be coming under the same umbrella. The Indians do not play certain things the ICC may have in its rules. They totally ignore that and they have been getting away with it for years,” Richards said. (Sportsmax.com)
