MOMENTS after being discharged from the Georgetown Public Hospital for a gunshot wound to his buttocks, Adrian David was brought to the court charged for breaking into a city store on Phagwah Day.
David, who was shot during a confrontation with the store-owner, appeared before Magistrate Alex Moore and denied the charge.
The court heard that March 23, at Wellington Street, Georgetown, the 35-year-old man broke into the store of Pen-Nu Yang and stole $80,000 cash along with $500,000 worth in costume jewellery.
The accused, after pleading with the Magistrate for leniency, was released on $40,000 and ordered to return to court on June 11.
