THE stunningly beautiful and very pleasant Marcella Gonsalves of the Pomeroon community on the Essequibo Coast is a medical technologist and branch manager at the Eureka Laboratory at Charity.On completing her secondary education at Anna Regina Multilateral School, this 22-year-old moved to the City and secured a job at the Georgetown Public Hospital. While in the employ of the country’s main referral hospital, she successfully read for a Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology at the University of Guyana (UG).

This young lady spends most of her day at work testing for strands of HIV, dengue, typhoid and other antibodies from samples submitted by various health agencies.

Gonsalves told the Guyana Chronicle that when she is not working, she enjoys kayaking, singing and reading.

And with a simile, she urged that “young people take every opportunity to professionally develop themselves, as lost opportunities might never be regained”.
