The particulars of the offence stated that the trio between June 5 and November 7, 2012, stole 12 crates of plywood valued $2.8M, property of Toolsie Persaud Ltd.
The defendants were not required to plead to the charge, since the prosecutor Deniro Jones objected to the Administration of Justice Act (AJA) being applied.
According to Jones, a fourth suspect, whose name was given as ‘Lakeram,’ was also implicated in the theft, but he has not yet been charged. However, no objection to the defendants being granted bail was made by the prosecutor.
The trio was granted $75,000 bail each and had their matter adjourned until May 3, when it would be heard before City Magistrate Judy Latchman.
