GTT+ has again made its contribution to the GuyExpo committee in an effort to ensure the successful completion of one of Guyana’s biggest commercial exhibitions. As preparatory works for GuyExpo 2016 continue, an additional $2 million has been invested into the operations by the telecommunication giant.
Speaking to members of the media on Friday during the presentation ceremony at the Sophia Exhibition Centre, GTT+ Marketing Director, Daniel Jilesen, disclosed that “our sponsorship towards GuyExpo is nothing new, given that we have been supporting the initiative for years.”
Considering that it is one of the biggest commercial exhibitions, the event gives current and potential investors, entrepreneurs,[and] companies a chance to showcase their produce and allows the consumer base to look at what is offered locally, regionally and internationally.
In that light, Jilesen said that its success is inevitable and therefore a contribution towards its development is the least the company could do.
COMING WITH A ‘BANG’
Jilesen was asked if the company is ready for GuyExpo 2016 and he said the intent is to come out with a “bang.”
“You can expect to see what you have seen in the past, with added feature phones, special offers and especially new gimmicks. However, I want to keep a few elements as a surprise, so you have to come out and see what is the latest and newest in telecoms,” he said.
Meanwhile, Coordinator of GuyExpo, Tameca Singh, lauded and welcomed the support of GTT+, noting that the funds will be utilised properly and efficiently.
“They have always been a supporter of any event, we at the Ministry of Business have and this is no different. Thus, we are ensuring you of the successful completion of Guy Expo 2016, which will be run off from May 12-15,”Singh said.
