AFTER the refreshing experience of participating in a revolutionary conference, some local women have been encouraged to be the carriers of hope — to rise unapologetically and inspire a new awakening in Guyana.Anna McCoy, an American business executive, was the feature speaker at a special forum, titled ‘Empowering Women in Business’, recently hosted by the Women Association for Sustainable Development (WASD) in association with the Sonia Noel Foundation for Creative Arts, at the Pegasus Hotel in Kingston, Georgetown. A number of women benefited from the forum, which took the format of a ‘Love Revolution’ conference pioneered by Linda Wallace, a California Empowerment Specialist and Women’s Rights Advocate.

As McCoy observed on her Facebook page in regard to being empowered, “You will arise unapologetically to love deeper, to dream bigger, to outwit and overcome the barriers, and be the solution for economic, social, relational and spiritual awakening in your nation.”

To the women who participated in the conference, McCoy said: “I believe in you.” To the women of Guyana, she said: “Your future is bright, full of hope, brilliance, witty ideas, amazing joy and the reward of achieving your dreams”; and she added that the nation depends on the women’s intelligence, maturity, and skillful precision of saying exactly what they want.

The Women Empowerment Specialist said women are the carriers of hope, and she has encouraged them to “be the change you seek.”

In this season of change, she said, the women who participated in the conference are “powerful’, and are awake and ready for this time of Guyana’s transformation. “Arise and shine! Your light has come!” she advised.

During the segment ‘Key’s to an Empowered you’, the women were given tips on putting enthusiasm in communication; aligning what they believe with exactness, precision and supernatural accuracy; what to do to make a valuable contribution to society; creating a value proposition; knowing what you are bringing to the marketplace; and building self-esteem, among other areas.
