Courts hosts health fair on Monday

COURTS will be hosting its first-ever health fair in the Main Street avenue, Georgetown, on Monday as part of Occupational Health and Safety Month 2016.According to a release, Health Minister George Norton and Deputy Mayor of Georgetown Sherod Duncan will address the occasion.
Courts said it endeavours to encourage good health and well-being not only among its staff, but those in its environment and Guyana at large.
“Courts has partnered with the Ministry of Health and the regional health services team to offer a wide range of health care services to the general public. Persons visiting the booths over the two-day period will be able to benefit from a range of medical services, inclusive of blood sugar and blood pressure testing, VCT testing and much more. The regional team will consist of two doctors along with nurses and they will be joined by a team from the Red Cross, who will be doing a sensitisation exercise on First Aid and will be sharing health tips. There will also be a very informative session focusing on providing more awareness about the Zika virus,” the release said.
Along with all of the health care activities, members of the public will be encouraged to be part of a blood drive to help save more lives.
The health fair will run from April 11 to 12 from 09:00 hrs to 16:30 hrs daily in the avenue in front of Courts Main Street. All services provided will be free.
