THE junior selection panel of the Berbice Cricket Board, led by Leslie Solomon has named a strong team to participate in the upcoming Guyana Cricket Board (GCB) Inter-county Under-17 tournament.The 14-man squad will be led by Kevin Sinclair, with Steve Deonarine appointed vice-captain. The team was selected after two trial matches recently held at the Albion Sports Complex.
Outstanding performances were recorded by Javed Karim, Alex Algoo and Kevin Sinclair.
The selectors also used performances from the Memorex Under-17 inter-club and the A Ally and Sons Secondary School cricket competitions as part of their selection criteria.
The players selected to represent Berbice are: Kevin Sinclair (captain), Steve Deonarine (v/captain), Alex Algoo, Chandradat Veerasammy, Keith Simpson, Junior Sinclair, Kelvin Omroa, Javid Karim, Karran Rajpaul, Brandon Stewart, Kevlon Anderson, Steven Kalamadeen, Garfield Benjamin and Syaad Peerbaksh.
The selectors have also named four standby players: Junior Williams, Malcolm Mickle, Kris Ramnarine and Emanuel Seecharran. The manager is Rabindranauth Saywack while the coach is Andre Percival.
