THE Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) will commence its Public Awareness and Public Outreach Programme this year in Region Three, West Coast Demerara on March 9. According to a release, residents of Region 3 who are desirous of meeting with the DPP to file complaints pertaining to criminal matters can do so on Wednesday March 9,2016 between 08:30hrs to 12:00 noon and 13:00hrs to 16:00 hrs at the Regional Council’s Office, Vreed-en-Hoop.
“The objective of the outreach programme is also in keeping with the DPP’s Office open-door policy to help and assist aggrieved persons around Guyana who find it difficult, or are unable to come to the Kingston office in Georgetown to seek help for justice,” the release said.
During the next three months, the DPP’s Office has planned outreaches to Essequibo Coast, Linden, Berbice, Bartica and its surrounding environs on dates that will be published in the newspapers and broadcast on television and radio.
Previously, the office held outreach programmes in Region 6 and Region 9.
