CALVIN Brown of Norton Street, Georgetown was remanded to prison by city Magistrate Faith McGusty on Thursday after he appeared before her to answer threatening language and threatening behaviour charges. The 21-year-old pleaded not guilty to the charges, which alleged that on February 22, 2016, he threatened to kill his sister, Lashana Barker.
Police Prosecutor Seon Blackman told the court that the virtual complainant and the defendant live in the same house, and that, on the day in question, the defendant pulled a knife and threatened to kill his sister. The prosecutor contended that if the defendant were placed on bail, he would continue his bad behaviour, as he had a habit of verbally abusing and damaging his sister’s belongings.
The sister told the court that the defendant is uncontrollable, and whenever “he loses it”, there is no telling what he would do.
The case will continue on March 29, 2016.
