A release from the board stated that “the BCB is proud of you, Shimron Hetmyer, for your achievement of leading the West Indies Under-19 team to their first-ever Youth World Cup title.
As a board, we try our best despite the challenges faced to fulfil our mandate and we continue to produce outstanding players for Guyana and West Indies teams.
“Your former Under-19 team mate Gudakesh Motie is excelling at regional senior cricket already. The board is confident that soon both of you will be wearing the maroon colours. We wish to encourage you to continue to be humble, work hard and stay focused,” the release added.
The board also took the opportunity to congratulate the other two Guyanese Tevin Imlach and Keemo Paul. They will soon be presented with plaques by the BCB.
