Video to celebrate jubilee anniversary

WELL-KNOWN publisher and producer, Bhaskar Sharma, is excited about undertaking the production “Guyana Now – The Renaissance,” for the Golden Jubilee celebrations.Sharma is collaborating with popular personality Ras Leon Saul, Guyenterprise and Fly Jamaica to promote the video compilation that celebrates Guyana’s 50th Independence Anniversary.
The publisher said articles on the production will also be featured in his newspaper Equality News. Equality News is Canada’s largest multi-cultural weekly newspaper. This year, the newspaper will celebrate its 35th anniversary.
Sharma has done five productions on tourism for Guyana before. The new production will commence in the first week of March and conclude two weeks after.
The package will be available through Equality Group and Fly Jamaica will be airing the videos on flights to promote the May 26 celebrations.
According to Sharma, the video will be created around the new look of Guyana. It will be filmed by world-recognised production company Discover Your World.
Tourism organisations which have an interest in being part of the package can make contact with Guyenterprise.
Managing Editor for the Caribbean (Equality) Leon Saul, said Equality News has been a pioneer in promoting Guyana as a tourism destination, a journey which began in the 1980s.
Saul is also a scriptwriter and has scripted several of Sharma’s tourism videos. He comes from a background of journalism, and several years ago, worked as a reporter at the Guyana Chronicle.
Both Sharma and Saul are cultural activists. Sharma plays the harmonium and Saul the African Djembe drums.
