FIFTY-YEAR-old Mark Fordyce was yesterday placed on $20,000 bail after he made his appearance before City Magistrate Dylon Bess to answer to the charge of larceny from the person.The charge read that on February 14, he stole from the person of Lakeram Gangadi, $10,000 at the La Penitence Market.
The Police Prosecutor stated that on the day in question the victim was purchasing items from the market when he felt a hand in his back pocket.
He turned around to investigate and saw the defendant running. He gave chase after he realized he was robbed, and caught the defendant.
The police searched the defendant but nothing was found on him. Fordyce is expected to make his next appearance on March 1.
