BRIDGETOWN – Windward Islands Volcanoes, trailing Barbados Pride by 200 runs, are in danger of an innings defeat after struggling to 134 for seven of 49 overs in their second innings at the close of play on the third day of their WICB Regional Professional Cricket League sixth round first-class match at Kensington Oval here yesterday. The batsman dismissed were opener Tyrone Theophile (six), Johnson Charles (25), Sunil Ambris (three), Keddy Lesporis (29), Andre Fletcher (25), Kavem Hodge for a first-ball “duck” and captain Liam Sebastien (seven).
Off-spinner Roston Chase has taken three wickets for 19 runs in 15 overs while the experienced left-arm spinner Sulieman Benn has two for 38 in 19 overs. There was one wicket each for fast bowler Miguel Cummins and Carlos Brathwaite.
Earlier, Barbados Pride, resuming from 272 for two overnight, replying to the Volcanoes’ first innings total of 250, declared at 450 for five with Chase unbeaten 40 and Shane Dowrich not out on 24.
