THE race to see who will win the coveted $3M all-expenses-paid wedding this year, courtesy of the Roraima Group of Companies, entered Phase Two last Sunday with the selection of the top five couples who will be competing in the event. The event, of course, is the annual Wedding Expo “Race to the Altar”, and the selection was done at Roraima’s Arrowpoint Nature Resort on the Kamuni Creek.

According to a release yesterday from ‘Roraima’, the top five couples are: Hamilton Holder and Karen McAllist; Clay Harris and Maelisha Kellman; Steven Persaud and Monalisa Sammy; Troy Archer and Karen Alexander; and Mutola Caesar and Eldon Pile.
The activities in the competition ranged from mountain biking, kayaking, forest expedition, and couple communication, giving the judges the opportunity to examine the couples’ interaction under stress.
Some of the criteria for entering the “Race” are “Good ambassadorship”, “Affordability of a wedding”, and “Chemistry”.
Other activities slated for the remainder of the competition are visits to the couples’ homes, media blitz, and the talent segment slated for the Valentine’s Day special at the Roraima Duke Lodge.
Sponsors for the “Race to the Altar” are Tower Suites, Sacha Designs, John Lewis Styles, Ansa McAl, Bonny’s Marketing Complex and Hand-in-Hand Insurance Company.
Public voting is slated to commence today on Roraima Wedding Expo’s ‘Facebook’ page, while the announcement of the winning couple will be done at the Roraima Duke Lodge Valentine’s Day Special.
