A MAN from Agricola was yesterday sentenced to prison by City Magistrate Faith McGusty after he made his appearance before her, charged with assault and abusive language.
Fifty–nine-year-old Aubrey Carrington of Lot 45 Public Road, Agricola was yesterday sentenced to 14 days’ imprisonment on an assault charge, and fined $10,000 or seven additional days by default on an abusive language charge.
According to the facts, on the day in question (Sunday, December 13, 2015) Leslyn Thompson, along with friends, went to the same bar where the defendant and his friends were at Cato Street, Agricola.
The defendant is said to have shouted out to her, using offensive words to describe her physical appearance, but she ignored him.
Some time later, she got up to use the washroom, and on her way back, Carrington scrambled her. He then told her that she was a “nobody”, and he continued to use offensive words while stating she was “damage goods.”
