– showcasing Guyana’s tourism to the rest of the world
THE Miss Global International franchise celebrates its 13th year of uniting the world through beauty and tourism.

Founder of the international pageant is Mr. Lachu Ramchandani ,who is based in Montego Bay, Jamaica.
The pageant started in his home country, but eventually moved to other parts of the globe. This year the pageant goes to Mauritius in September and is expected to attract participation from approximately 40 countries.
The pageant features a variety of segments which include National Costumes, Swimsuits that must reflect the colours of the country’s national flag, Talent, Evening Gown, Question & Answer, and the segment with the highest score – the Interview.
Three (3) years ago, Guyana took a bold step under the leadership of National Directors Hashim Alli and Melicia Partab to participate in the prestigious pageant. With limited experience, but with hard work and perseverance, Miss Onesha Hutson was the lucky ambassador to represent Guyana at the 2014 Miss Global International pageant, which was held at picturesque Montego Bay, Jamaica.
Although she did not secure us the crown, she indeed brought international exposure for our country as each day she was well represented and was always a front-runner in all media. She secured us a spot in the Top 5 for Best Talent; another spot in top 10 and also brought back the special prize for “Miss Best Smile.” This was the start of Guyana’s experience.
In 2015, after experiencing the culture and traditions of the pageant and gaining valuable experience of the dos and don’ts of pageantry in general, the national directors were prepared to represent Guyana to the highest standards.
“This for us was an ultimate success as history was created by our reigning queen Miss Alicia Nichola Bess –as she not only showcased our country to the highest capacity, but also secured us a spot in the Top three of the pageant earning us second runner- up position at the pageant, which was held in the twin- island republic of Trinidad & Tobago,” the directors said.
This now makes way for the 2016 ambassador. Come February 20th, 2016 at the Guyana Marriott Hotel ballroom, the new representative will be revealed at a grand public coronation ceremony and cocktail reception.
Commencing at 7:30pm, the coronation ceremony will include fashion shows by local designers including House of Pearson, by Quinton Pearson; Rockerz Design, by Jason Shurland; Nachle Designs, by Melicia Partab & Hashim Alli; dances by Roshini Boodhoo’s Jewan Ka Nritya group ; first-ever Make Up fashion show by Saks Makeup Artistry, and many others. This will be followed by a cocktail reception for the newly crowned queen.
Tickets for the event are on sale and cost only $3,500 inclusive of refreshment and cocktail canapés. For more information, be sure to contact Melicia on telephone number 688-0036, or visit the Facebook page Miss Global International, Guyana.
