ATTORNEY-AT-LAW Rexford Jackson is the new president of Victoria Kings Football Club, following the club’s Annual General Meeting and Elections, held last Saturday at the Victoria Community Centre. The elections, which were observed by East Demerara Football Association (EDFA) vice-president Gregory Wickham, saw Jackson run uncontested, given the fact his competition pulled out of the race.
Businesswoman Carlotta De Jesus is the new vice-president, Kenwyne Nurse and Calvin Marks were also voted back as treasurer and secretary respectively.. Delon Vangronigen is the new team manager and Anu George – equipment manager.
Jackson, in his address, thanked the players who trusted in his ability to lead one of the East Coast Demerara’s top clubs in the right direction and also charged the new management to work as a team to bring about holistic development in the club and the country.
Outgoing president Idi Wilson thanked the players and the old management for the opportunity that they had given him to run the club.
