Burglar found sleeping in victim’s bed

A BURGLAR who was allegedly found sleeping in the victim’s bed yesterday made an appearance before Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan, charged with attempting to commit a felony.Wayne Singh, 37, of 157 Sussex Street, Albouystown, Georgetown pleaded not guilty to the charge detailing that on the night of Monday, January 11, at Albouystown, he broke and entered the house of Peter McDurby with intent to commit a felony.

According to the police report, on January 11, McDurby returned home from work and found the accused on his bed asleep, and when awakened, the man pulled out a knife. The home owner managed to disarm the burglar while calling his neighbour for assistance.

Police Prosecutor Neville Jeffers did not oppose bail, and the matter was transferred before Magistrate Dylon Bess for January 26.
