The prizes were donated by loyal Guyana Chronicle customers who have been supportive of the newspaper for a number of years.
Riaz Computers of 189 Church Street, South Cummingsburg donated one printer, D Singh Trading of 36 Delph St and Campbell Avenue donated one fruit basket while Designer Trend of 105 Regent Street, Bourda donated one bath and body works hamper.
Those participating in the promotion were tasked with choosing a number which represent one of the three gifts. A drawing was done on Tuesday and the winning participants were presented with their prizes yesterday.
The winners were visibly joyful as they received their prizes and were already asking about next year’s promotion. The first winner Gerald Pestani said he is overwhelmed about winning the bath and body works hamper as he was never a winner of any promotion before. He followed his instinct to participate in the promotion as well as the encouragement of his significant other who will be getting the prize that he won.
“I thought the thing done draw and so I see it back in the next week paper and I send in another coupon so for my efforts I am very happy that I win something for Christmas,” Pestani said.
Takesha Whyte who won the fruit basket reasoned that she had nothing to lose and therefore she entered the promotion and is now looking forward to next year’s promotion.
The winner of the top prize, Ruth Noble got herself a new printer and told Guyana Chronicle that she has been a reader of the newspaper for a number of years. She was surprised to see a promotion of this nature but decided to compete.

Noble will be using her new printer to assist her with her studies and will also be offering free printing to children in the neighborhood who cannot afford to print their assignments.
Meanwhile, the Guyana Chronicle expresses thanks to all participants and would encourage them to contest in next year’s promotion, which will be bigger and better with up to 10 prizes up for grabs. The newspaper also wishes all Guyanese prosperity and happiness for the Christmas season and the New Year.
