FORTY-FOUR-year-old Edgar DeVeria of Lot 21 Stone Avenue, Campbellville, Georgetown appeared before City Magistrate Annette Singh, charged with assault using threating language, committed on Michel Halley on October 20.The facts of the matter were not stated.
Represented by legal counsel, DeVeria pleaded not guilty to the charge, and his counsel asked the court to place his client on reasonable bail, which was not objected to by the prosecutor.
He also asked that the arrest warrant which was ordered be recalled, since an arrest warrant had been ordered and his client had presented himself to the police.
The magistrate recalled the warrant and placed DeVeria on $10,000 bail. He is expected to return to court on December 30.
