TORONTO, Canada – FORMER Guyana Chronicle sports journalist Ravendra Madholall was among the top awardees at the inaugural Restoration Warriors presentation, dinner and dance held recently at the Twilight Family Restaurant & Bar, Scarborough here.Already the recipient for the third highest score in the Ontario Softball Cricket League (OSCL), Madholall’s aggregate of 415 was also good enough to earn him the title of the Leading Scorer for his club.

So dominant was the Essequibian’s performance, Navin Misir’s 252 was a distant second, while Chris Baiju Chandrashekar occupied the third spot with 216, which included the lone century for his team, an even hundred.

Madholall, who also serves as manager and Public Relations Officer (PRO), struck four half-centuries which included a top-score of 92 while Misir also counted three knocks of over 50.

The versatile Madholall also starred in the bowling department, his 11 wickets being just one short of Doodnauth “Chilo” Manbahal who finished the season with 12 while Misir was again in the picture with 10, including a hat-trick.

Apart from the top awardees being presented with trophies, all the players, officials and main supporters were also decked out with medals.

President of the club Naresh Bodo, in brief remarks, praised his players for their fine showing during the season and urged them to continue their great work in the 2016 season.
The OSCL was represented by treasurer Kim Sue, who congratulated the club and players for their fine efforts in only their first season and assured them of the league’s support.
