MINER Ivor Goddette has sued fellow miner Ramnarine for $8M, being an unpaid balance in an agreement of sale and purchase of land in the Cuyuni area. The agreement is dated January, 2015.It was a term of the said agreement that the defendant was to pay to the plaintiff the sum of $9M. The plaintiff has acknowledged receipt of $1M, leaving $8M to be paid by the defendant.

According to the summons filed in the Supreme Court Registry, both the plaintiff and the defendant attended a meeting of the Geology & Mines Commission, where a transfer for the $8M ownership claim was effected.
Repeated demands for payment have been made by the plaintiff on the defendant, without success.
The matter is expected to come up for hearing in Bail Court.
