Guyanese shot dead in New Jersey nightclub

Authorities in New Jersey, USA have reported that 49-year-old Guyanese Phillip Amsterdam was shot dead at a nightclub. Amsterdam, once a minibus driver here, died Friday after being transported to a nearby hospital for treatment, said Essex County Prosecutor’s Office spokeswoman Katherine Carter.
New Jersey media reported Police sources and neighbourhood residents as saying the shooting occurred outside of an after-hours social club located near the intersection of Madison Avenue and South 16th Street.
