Seaman claims boat parts

APPEARING yesterday before Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan was a 54-year-old seaman who is accused of the theft of boat parts, valued $800,000. Clyde Flu was released on $50,000 bail after denying that he stole four propellers, a shaft and other items from a fishing vessel belonging to Searam Bishwah.
The seaman who resides at Sideline Damn, East Coast Demerara, was represented by attorney-at-law Paul Fung-a-Fat who explained that the boat was given to his client over five years ago and he had receipts to prove that the boat and the articles were Flu’s property.
Police Prosecutor Deniro Jones made no objection to bail nor did he relate the facts to the court. Flu will return to court on January 14 before City Magistrate Dylan Bess.
