THIRTY-five-year-old Leon Wayne of Lot 638 Third Street, Kaneville, a community in Grove, East Bank Demerara, was yesterday arraigned before Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan on several fraudulent misappropriation charges.

He is alleged to have obtained, between 2014 and October 2015, quantities of money from several persons to acquire houses and lands for them, knowing his claims to be false.

Wayne pleaded not guilty to all the charges, and was placed on a total of $200,000 bail. His matter has been adjourned to January 6, 2016.
