– Round of eight rescheduled for December 12 at Victoria ground
THE round-of-eight matches in the Mayor Hamilton Green’s 81st birth anniversary football tournament has been rescheduled once again and will now be contested at the Victoria ground, East Coast Demerara on December 12 starting at 17:00 hrs.According to tournament director Lennox `Mullen’ Arthur, the tournament which would have concluded tomorrow at the Banks DIH Thirst Park facility had to be rescheduled and shifted to the Victoria ground since he (Arthur) did not get the green light to have the use of the Thirst Park facility for the round of eight as well as the semi-final and the final that are slated to be contested on the same day.
However, Arthur said he spoke to the authorities responsible for the Victoria ground and got a positive response “so the last set of matches will be played on December 12 and all prize winners will be rewarded”.
