Fined $7,500 for obstruction

CITY Magistrate Alex Moore yesterday fined Mario Joseph in his absence for the Obstruction of a Public Way. Joseph is required to pay a fine of $7,500 on or before February 2016 or by default spend one week in prison.
The charge stated that on Thursday, August 20, 2015 at New Market Street, a public way in the city of Georgetown, he caused an obstruction on the southern side of the said street.
He was expected to make his first appearance on August 22, 2015, but he did not present himself. He was found guilty by Magistrate Moore as the prosecutor made out a reasonable case against the absent defendant.
