A MAN was on Friday placed on $130,000 bail after he appeared before Magistrate Fabayo Azore in Court Five of the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts charged on two counts of breaking and entering and larceny.Dellon Broomes, 40, of 130 Wisrock Housing Scheme, Linden pleaded not guilty to the charge which read that on Saturday, November 21 at Wisrock Junction, he broke into the shop of Shamika Murray and stole a quantity of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages and a knife –total value $26,860.
The second charge alleged that between October 26 to November 16 at Lot 176 Wisrock, Linden, Broomes broke into the dwelling home of Shonda McGregor and stealing a quantity of household electrical appliance and groceries along with several tea cups – totaling $166,000. He also denied that charge.
Broomes, a laborer attached to the Linden Road Project told the court that he was the sole bread winner of his family and he was involved in any criminal activities because he had his three children and a sickly father to care for.
Prosecutor Simone Payne made no objection to bail being granted. It was set to the tune of $65,000 on each charge and the matter was adjourned until December 7 before Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan.
